Dialogue: What does it mean to publish voices from the margins?

From Mexico, Nigeria, Croatia and the United States, four publishers at the forefront of
independent publishing houses will talk about what it means to support non-hegemonic
voices in an industry dominated by a culture of “bestsellers”. Does the book world
really want to commodify voices from the margins? How do these independent projects
differ from those which promote critical thinking as little more than a tool for marketing?
With Gizella Garciarena (Bajo Tierra Ediciones, Mexico), Layla Mohamed (Cassava
Republic Press, Nigeria), Neva Serdarević (Fraktura, Croatia) and Margot Atwell (The
Feminist Press, USA). Moderator: Anna Roca, editor of l’Agulla Daurada.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
