FABRA I COATS
Literal PRO is held in the old industrial complex of Fabra i Coats, located in Carrer Sant Adrià, 20, in the neighbourhood of Sant Andreu de Palomar (Barcelona). Formerly a factory, Fabra i Coats was the site of important workers’ struggles during the 1970s, and has been reclaimed as a public space by the local community.
Fabra i Coats was a brick textile factory built in the 1910s. The industrial complex occupies an area of just over three hectares. The Barcelona City Council acquired the complex in 2005, repurposing it for educational, associative, healthcare and housing activities. It also contains car parks, green areas, the Creation Factory and the Industrial Heritage Work Interpretation Center.
