Literal PRO 2024

Literal PRO is a literary fair for publishing professionals with a focus on political and radical
books. It is held every May in Barcelona at the same time as the Literal fair, which has become a key event in the literary, intellectual and political landscape of Barcelona and Catalonia since
its first edition in 2015. During Literal fair, thousands of people take part in a public programme of talks, debates, concerts and poetry readings, and to buy books offered by
publishing houses that foster critical thinking.

Conceived as a professional space, the first edition of Literal PRO took place in 2019, as an initiative of Tigre de Paper Edicions and Bellaterra Edicions. An alternative to major European fairs, it aims to provide a tailored space for publishers and rights holders to share information about their projects, collaborate, and assign or acquire rights.

Literal PRO 2024 will be held in May 24 and 25, from 9am to pm.

Registration will be open from November 14, 2023 until March 15, 2024.

To facilitate discussions and collaboration, Literal PRO places two large meeting rooms at the disposal of participants. The first contains an exhibition space where publishers can display their books, and is set aside to host meetings between publishers. The second space will function as an assembly hall for group meetings, talks, and training sessions.

Literal PRO aims to become an essential event in the global literary calendar. We want to create a network of international publishing professionals, raising awareness of, and facilitating access to, the work of authors from around the world, in a dynamic of cultural and economic exchange and mutual reinforcement.

Literal PRO 2023

Literal PRO is held in the old industrial complex of Fabra i Coats, located in Carrer Sant Adrià, 20, in the neighbourhood of Sant Andreu de Palomar (Barcelona). Formerly a factory, Fabra i Coats was the site of important workers’ struggles during the 1970s, and has been reclaimed as a public space by the local community.
